Whether you want to explore nearly 30 miles of trails or enjoy the starry sky with a telescope, you’re bound to find something you’ll love. This is also a fantastic spot to learn about conservation, as park rangers are eager to educate visitors on the area’s one-of-a-kind features.

John U. Lloyd Beach State Park

Beach at one of South Florida's best parks.

Everyone knows about Florida’s stunning beaches, but if you want to get away from the crowds, this is the spot. You’ll find John U. Lloyd Park in secluded Dania Beach, and there’s no shortage of fun things to enjoy.

This park is the perfect spot to enjoy a dip in the ocean and collect shells on the shore. Best of all, you can enjoy all your favorite activities without large high-rises or tourists. I recommend the kayaking or sailboating—it’s a great way to take in the Florida coast, and you can rent all of the equipment you’ll need.
